This video showcases a beautiful home renovation in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland. In order to properly tell the story, I was able to interview both the homeowner and the architects. It was a treat to hear them talk about a project that they had so much passion for, and to figure out how to convey that in a video that highlighted the building itself along with their stories.
This project combined two of my favorite things to film: community arts and professional music. It was a lot of fun to capture the energy that the OK Chorale singers bring to a room, while helping Kate and Ben tell the story of a unique event in Portland that has grown into a regular staple of the music scene. This project, in which I did everything from start to end, showcases just how much can be accomplished on a small budget.
As soon as I talked to Jessica about her business, I knew that her passion would make her great on camera despite her reservations about talking in front of the lens. Together we figured out a way to get all of the shooting done on the same day so that I could give her the highest quality video possible on her small business budget.
This video is a great example of what I can deliver to a remote client. Jena lives and works in NYC, so I set her up with a trusted colleague of mine to capture the footage in person. I really liked Jena’s idea to showcase herself and her philosophy in a series of videos on her website, and thought it was a great way to promote her burgeoning business. Check out the rest of the videos scattered across her website here.
I’ve known Emily since we were both five years old, so this video was a particularly rewarding one to create. It was also a fun challenge to properly showcase the beauty of her floral arrangements. In the final draft we worked together as I keyed in the perfect hue and saturation to properly represent what these flowers looked like in real life. Also, I got to meet some alpacas.
I put this promotional video together using the footage a colleague and I shot the previous year. Similar to the OK Chorale video, I think this really showcases just how much you can accomplish on a small budget with a limited number of people, even for a large event such as a multi-day music festival.
